I attended Christopher Newport University from 2001-2005 and studied Communications, Writing, and Philosophy. During this time, I met my wife, Beth, and got very involved in InterVarsity. After graduating we both came on campus ministry staff with InterVarsity to serve at CNU. For 10 years, we enjoyed serving together in leading and training students in Bible study, discipleship, evangelism, and worship leading. After our second child was born, and because of growing health concerns, Beth left staff in 2016. She has since been able to work from home by starting her own online resale business, Deep Creek Clothing. In the years since, I have continued to serve the CNU chapter while also taking on some greater leadership and staff training opportunities in the Virginia Region, and I have planted an InterVarsity chapter at the Hampton and Williamsburg campuses of Virginia Peninsula Community College (formerly TNCC). I am graduating with a Masters in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary in May of 2023 and look forward to the ways this training and preparation will better enable me to serve and lead college ministry in Virginia. I also own and operate a mobile entertainment company, Surf & Sound Events, and serve as a part-time faculty and worship leader with Summit Christian Academy, where both of our children attend. In late 2020, after many years serving in another local church, our family clearly discerned God's leading us out of that congregation. As we looked for a new church community that would be committed to God’s Word, God’s people, and God’s mission, we were led to Peninsula Community Chapel and became members in 2021. |
